MISSING: premiere performances November 2017

Missing tells a story everybody knows, about a woman no one remembers.

Set in Vancouver and along the Highway of Tears, this music drama is being created to give voice to the story of Canada’s missing and murdered aboriginal women and girls, and to show that each and every one of these missing people is honored.

Our libretto is by the distinguished First Nations playwright Marie Clements. Our composer is Juno-award winner Brian Current. Missing is co-produced by City Opera and Pacific Opera Victoria.

In Vancouver, performances of Missing will take place at the York Theatre, Commercial Drive x Georgia. Tickets will be sold through The Cultch. Missing is made possible by an extraordinary award from The Vancouver Foundation, with the generous assistance of the BC Arts Council, the Canada Council, and The Leon Judah Blackmore Foundation.

Performances are at 8pm on November 3, 7, 9 and 11; 2pm on Sunday, November 5.

the dates are odd--show a range rather than just one date.

You're right, Mary. We have to make 5 separate entries (one per performance), or do it the way we did... sigh. In opera, we rarely sing night-after-night. It's too hard on the un-miked human voice. As you know, MISSING runs on 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11 November at The York. Please join us, and thanks for your comment.

The dates have now been corrected!
