Join tenor Isaiah Bell in the Vancouver premiere of his solo show, THE BOOK OF MY SHAMES, at The Firehall Arts Centre on 18, 19 and 20 May at 7:30pm.
In this extraordinary and personal, difficult and charming show, Bell reminds us that desire, rejection, shame, and the longing to be loved are themes common to us all. He does it with operatic passion and a wink.
Joined by four players onstage, giving music also written by Bell, the work has been seen in Toronto, Kelowna, and Victoria, earning praise as "impossibly beautiful", "poignant, thoughtful, raw, and honest", and "touching, very funny, disturbing and sometimes quite revolting", SHAMES is directed by its co-creator Sean Guist.
Firehall Arts Centre, 280 E Cordova, diagonally opposite St James Anglican Church.
